Two types of peace

There are only two types of peace in this life.

One is based on gain, and thus is satisfying but short-lived, because satisfaction rots and ends in a short period of time. The other is based on loss, that of sacrifice and virtue, and if truly implemented can be as permanent as the memory of an organism can last. I highlight memory, because the understanding of memory is important to see that nothing in this life is stale for long or permanently unchanged, and, for that, even virtue looses it's place in an organism.

An organism may be that of an individual body, of a tribe, or of a whole society.

If we look at nature in an holistic and philosophical way, we must be aware that life balances itself over time, just like water running through obstacles. Therefore, to loose is to gain. To gain is also to loose.

The peace based on gain is the one that applies to a small circle of people. The peace of a family. The peace of a club, social class, or of a country. This type of peace is achieved mostly in regards to material means and border control, however, at the cost of the peace of self. It's a peace based on removing resources from others so you can have peace of the body, in a way that you assure yourself that you will not run out of food and service. It's a temporary peace founded on the ghost of scarcity and competition.

The peace based on loss is the one that applies to one single individual and, consequently, to all human beings. This type of peace is the one that philosophically relates to saints, poets, artists and espiritual seekers. The ones that treasure alignment with self, or Self, above all else. Not all of them live in loss though, especially in our capitalist organism of today, for reasons of survival in a scarcity-leaned thought process. Contrary to this leaning, the peace based on loss is founded on the ghost of abundance and cooperation. This indeed the brighter path, where values of self seeking and virtue are found, that of the peace of mind in sharing and not owing. The path that strives for self-love and love for all human beings, where injustice is capped from the roots and resources are shared among all and without fear of - loss.

Loss is not defeat. It's the seed for new, abundant life.

Therefore I plead that you, truth seeker, trust loss. If many single individuals were to strive for virtue and self-love, trust and cooperation with others, we would achieve so much more as an organism, and consequently ourselves -- be manifested as our best self and a higher life.
