Are humans worthy?

Every day we should ask ourselves: are humans worthy? 

We have been bestowed the gift of creation, the mind to analyse and the freedom to act upon life and the very paradigm of life creation. We can decode life's DNA, we can list the periodic table of elements, and we can conjugate, inflect and as well subjugate languages.

It appears we have been given the key to the library of Earth's life, even though we don't take this gift with the necessary ceremony. Every day we live our lives taking it for granted. Aren't we supposed to be the protectors of our planet's life, seeing that we have been given this especial key?

As we go on unceremoniously through life distracting ourselves with useless creations, falling into depression for being detached from the planet's life, and keeping our minds entertained with greed and destructive belief and economic systems, shouldn't we wonder? Even after millennia of existence as a civilization, we are still engaged with and marveled at shiny trinkets. Are we worthy this immense, divine gift?

Why are we alive? Do humans wonder at all?

We witness, in our daily lives, humans slandering and gossiping around, always hungry for temporary possessions, competitive for illusory rewards, still unaware of their divine gift.

We destroy life by supporting genocide, colonization of cultures and subjugation of other beings and life in general. How well are we protecting life on this planet? It's a shame. In fact, we took the key of life with immense greed in our eyes, overtaken by the power of our inflated egos, and we decided that we have the power instead to destroy life. That is the path that human beings chose to follow so far.

Are humans worthy? 

Only actions will tell. However, with certainty I promise that if humans don't take this divine gift seriously very soon, the planet will take care of us for good.
